Desly is built by one person, and that person answers the email. If something here doesn't cover it, write to me directly and you'll get a real reply.
Email support@desly.app with your question. Please say which device you're on and which version of Desly you're running — you'll find the version at the bottom of Settings.
Getting started
On Mac. Desly has no Dock icon. After the welcome window closes, look for the Desly mark in the menu bar at the top right of your screen, beside the clock. Click it to open the app. Everything — starting a session, History, Settings, quitting — lives in that panel.
On iPhone. Open the app and press Start. That's the whole setup.
Starting a session. Pick one of the session cards, set how long a focus block runs, how many rounds you want, and how long the breaks are. Desly runs the rhythm from there — block, break, block — and keeps count for you.
Posture tracking
What you need. Posture coaching reads the head-motion sensors built into AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and Beats Fit Pro. No other headphones report head motion, so no other headphones can be used for it. You also need to allow Motion access the first time you try it.
Nothing to wear, nothing to set up. Put your earbuds in, start a session, and sit the way you want to work for a few seconds while Desly reads your baseline. From then on it chimes quietly if you slump forward and stay there, and goes silent again when you sit back up.
"It isn't tracking my posture." Check three things, in order: your earbuds are connected to this device and not to another one nearby; Motion access is allowed (Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness; iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness); and you have an active subscription, since posture is the paid feature. If all three are true and it still doesn't read, email me.
"It says my posture is fine when it isn't." You probably calibrated in a different chair, or moved seats mid-session. On Mac, the posture row has a re-balance button that takes a fresh reading without ending your session.
Posture stops when the app isn't on screen (iPhone). This is a limit of the system, not a bug: iOS only delivers head-motion data to an app that's in the foreground. Time away is recorded as untracked rather than counted as good posture, so your figures stay honest. On Mac, tracking runs as long as the app is running.
Desly is not a medical device. It reports an angle measured by consumer earbuds and nudges you. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or give advice about any medical condition. If you have pain, see a clinician.
Subscriptions, billing and refunds
What's free. Focus sessions are free forever — every rhythm, every round, breaks, and your daily figures. No time limit and no session cap.
What's paid. Desly Pro adds posture coaching and History. It's an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, with a one-week free trial. One subscription covers both the Mac and iPhone apps.
Managing or cancelling. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they're managed in your Apple Account rather than in Desly. On iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions. On Mac: App Store → click your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period you've paid for ends.
Refunds. Apple is the merchant of record for every purchase, so refunds are handled by Apple, not by me. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple turns you down and you think that's unfair, write to me anyway.
Restoring a purchase. New Mac, new phone, or a reinstall: open Settings in Desly and tap "Restore purchase". Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with.
Terms of Use. Desly is licensed under Apple's standard licence agreement: Terms of Use (EULA).
Your data
Your posture readings and session history stay on your device. The only thing the app sends out is anonymous usage analytics that cannot identify you. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Desly has no accounts and no login, so there is nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to, and no account to delete. Removing the app removes its data with it.
Bugs, requests and everything else
Found something broken? Want a feature? Both go to the same place, and both are read by me personally: support@desly.app. Bug reports are most useful with your device, your OS version, the Desly version from the bottom of Settings, and what you were doing when it happened.
I aim to answer within two business days.
