Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25/08/2026
Desly is a focus timer for Mac and iPhone that tracks your posture during work sessions using the motion sensors in supported AirPods. This policy explains what Desly does and doesn't do with your data.
The short version: your posture data stays on your device, and the only thing the Desly app sends out is anonymous usage analytics that can't identify you.
What Desly collects
Posture and motion data. During a focus session, Desly reads head-motion data (orientation and pitch) from your connected AirPods to detect your posture. This data is processed on your device, in real time, to power the live posture indicator and your end-of-session report.
Session history. Your past sessions, including scores, graphs, and timing, are stored locally on your device so you can review them.
Where your posture data goes
Your posture and motion data never leaves your device. Desly does not send your motion data, posture scores, or session history to any server. There is no Desly account and no cloud sync for your posture data. It lives on your Mac or iPhone, under your control, and deleting the app removes it.
Desly requests permission to access motion data from your AirPods (via Apple's Core Motion framework). This permission is used solely for the posture-tracking features described above. Your Mac or iPhone will ask for your consent before Desly accesses this data.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand how Desly is used and to improve it, Desly collects anonymous, aggregated usage analytics through a privacy-focused service called TelemetryDeck. This helps us answer questions like "how many people start a session" or "which features get used", never "who is this person" or "what is their posture".
TelemetryDeck is designed for privacy: it does not use device fingerprinting, does not build advertising profiles, and does not collect data that personally identifies you. The signals Desly sends are things like app opens and feature usage, not your posture data, scores, or session content, which remain on your device as described above.

AI features
Desly uses Apple Intelligence to help make sense of your posture data, for example by summarizing your session trends. This processing runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your session data is not sent to Desly, to Apple, or to any third party for these features. It stays on your device, exactly like the rest of your posture data.
This website
Everything above describes the Desly app. This section covers desly.app, the website you are reading now.
Visitor analytics. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure traffic: which pages are viewed, where visitors arrive from, and roughly which country and device type they use. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so there is no cookie banner to click here, and it does not fingerprint you or follow you across other sites. It is not connected to the Desly app, it never sees your posture or session data, and it is not used for advertising. You can review how Cloudflare handles this data here: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Hosting logs. The website is hosted on AWS Amplify. Like any web host, it keeps standard server access logs of requests made to the site, which typically include the IP address, timestamp, requested page, referrer, and browser user agent. These logs are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure, are used for security and troubleshooting, and are retained by AWS under their own terms. See Amazon's privacy notice for details: aws.amazon.com/privacy
The demo video. The home page has a short video hosted by Loom. It does not load until you click play: until then, nothing is requested from Loom and Loom knows nothing about your visit. If you do play it, Loom serves the video and may set its own cookies, in the same way any embedded player does. You can review how Loom handles data here: loom.com/privacy
None of this website data is linked to your use of the Desly app, and none of it contains posture, motion, or session information.
Purchases
Desly's posture features are sold as a subscription through Apple's App Store. When you subscribe, the payment is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. Apple is the merchant of record, so Desly never sees or stores your payment-card details. Your purchase is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy, which you can review here: apple.com/legal/privacy
Beta testing (TestFlight)
Desly is now on the App Store, but pre-release versions are still tested through Apple's TestFlight from time to time. If you use one of those builds, Apple may collect certain information as part of the TestFlight program, such as basic usage and crash data, under Apple's own privacy policy. This is handled by Apple, not by Desly, and helps us fix bugs before a release. See Apple's privacy policy for details: apple.com/legal/privacy
Children
Desly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If Desly's data practices change, for example if a future version adds features that require handling data differently, we'll update this policy and the "last updated" date above.
